Five questions decide your Harpers Ferry venue:
- ☐ Guest count: fewer than 15, about 25, or closer to 60?
- ☐ Dinner: catered on site, or a restaurant afterward?
- ☐ Sound: do you need a microphone or speakers?
- ☐ Rain plan: indoor room, or are you willing to gamble?
- ☐ Rooms: should the wedding party sleep on site?
Your answers point to one of three very different setups: a national park lawn, a full-service inn package, or a manor with its own suites.
Prices and hours can change, so please confirm with each business before booking.

Option 1: The National Park Lawn on Camp Hill
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park allows weddings on the lawn at the Mather Training Center (51 Mather Place), up on Camp Hill.
- Permit: Special Use Permit, $50 non-refundable fee, with possible extra charges or deposits
- Facilities: two parking areas, but no public restrooms or electricity
- Sound: no sound systems; acoustic music only
- Contact: Permits Office, 304-535-6232
St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the stone church above the old town, belongs to the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, not the park. Call the church office (304-725-5558) about ceremonies, then contact the park early to arrange parking.
Best for: a short, quiet ceremony with history all around, then dinner in town.

Option 2: Hillbrook Inn’s Intimate Packages
Hillbrook Inn and Spa in nearby Charles Town packages small weddings with almost everything included:
- Elopement (2–8 guests): $1,995
- Morning Mini-Monies (2–25 guests): $5,500
- Micro Weddings (9–15 guests): $6,500
All include an officiant, a bouquet and boutonnière, a 3-course dinner with wedding cake, and planning plus day-of coordination. Indoors, it seats 30 for a ceremony and 44 for dinner; outdoors, up to 150. Here Comes The Guide also lists a 20% service charge, so ask whether it applies.
Best for: couples who want one price and no vendor shopping.
Option 3: Stone Manor Boutique Inn
Just across the Potomac in Lovettsville, Virginia, this manor offers:
- Elopement: $2,000 for 2 hours in the Solarium and Wooded Glen, a single-tier cake, a bouquet and a night in the Manor Suite (weekdays and select Sundays). Add a reception for $500 an hour, up to 4 hours.
- Monarch Butterfly: $6,000–$8,000 for 12 hours plus a suite night (Sundays only in peak season)
- White Butterfly: $10,000–$14,000 for a Friday-to-Sunday stay, with the inn for up to 16 guests and breakfast
Best for: a weekend where the wedding party sleeps on site.

Getting there: Harpers Ferry is roughly an hour and a half from Washington, D.C. by car, and the town has a train station served by Amtrak and MARC commuter trains (check schedules for your day). Old-town parking is tight, so share shuttle or parking plans with guests.
Put those details on a wedding website template with travel and RSVP pages, a one-time purchase with no monthly fee, so guests know where to park and which train to catch.

Here’s a look at the old town on a spring day:
Which One Fits Your Guest List
- 2–8 people, smallest budget: the park lawn with a $50 permit, then dinner in town.
- 2–8 people, everything handled: Hillbrook’s $1,995 elopement or Stone Manor’s $2,000 elopement.
- Up to 25: Hillbrook’s Morning Mini-Monies.
- Up to 60 with rooms for family: Stone Manor’s small-wedding packages, or ask Hillbrook about outdoor seating.
- Need speakers or a DJ: skip the park lawn.
